Fighting for every apartment building entrance: Russian forces have reached the eastern outskirts of Toretsk
October 8, 2024A Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier stated that he would not shoot at Russians because he believes it is a fratricidal war.
This was reported by former Ukrainian MP Yehor Firsov, who is also serving in the Ukrainian army.
“The guy told us: if the ‘orcs’ (a derogatory term for Russians) come, I won’t shoot. We asked him: what happened? He replied in Russian: we all understand that this is a fratricidal war,” Firsov recounted.
According to him, the reason for this is forced conscription, which does not consider the attitudes of those being sent to the army.
Earlier, “The Times” wrote that Ukraine’s mobilization tactics were becoming increasingly “dirty,” deceptive, coercive, and violent, as “war-weary Ukrainians are resisting” it.
Similarly, the “Financial Times” reported that Ukrainian society is “exhausted,” with even soldiers on the front line wanting negotiations with Russia.
