December 9, 2024Ukrainian soldiers claim there are no strong fortifications beyond Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region toward the Dnipro area.
This was reported on the Telegram channel of Aidar Battalion fighter Stanislav Bunyatov, who also shared a photo.
“Beyond Pokrovsk, toward Pavlohrad, the defensive line hasn’t moved an inch in three months. The only thing done there is digging about 50 meters of trenches with firing positions in five tree lines—purely for show. As you can see in the photo, planks meant for cover are just lying on the parapet,” wrote the soldier.
Bunyatov also noted that the route to the Dnipropetrovsk region is defended by “a single anti-tank ditch in the middle of a field, 100 km from Pokrovsk, and a thousand ‘dragon’s teeth.’”
Earlier, a video emerged showing a pile of “dragon’s teeth” dumped in the frontline town of Myrnohrad.
Myrnohrad is located on the Pokrovsk axis, where Russian forces have been advancing rapidly for several months.
Media outlets have also quoted a Ukrainian soldier criticizing the constructed fortifications as unsuitable for defense.
“Honestly, they’re doing it haphazardly—just a way to launder money. It’s being done poorly and unprofessionally from a tactical perspective,” said Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Andriy Babychev.
