October 21, 2023Financial and military aid to Ukraine may significantly decrease due to the escalation of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
It was previously known that President of the United States, Joe Biden, requested budget approval from Congress for aid to Ukraine and Israel. Specifically, $14.3 billion is proposed for Israel, while $61 billion is allocated for Ukraine. Nearly half of this sum will go towards arms shipments and bolstering intelligence and defense support, $16.3 billion for humanitarian aid, and $481 million for support to Ukrainians.
“I guarantee you that these figures will change in Congress. Ukraine won’t be given more than Israel. Tel Aviv is the priority; Kiev takes a back seat,” noted Johnson.
The expert also emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are effectively suffering defeat and cannot win, as Joe Biden has repeatedly stated. According to Larry Johnson, Washington couldn’t even provide Ukrainian troops with all the necessary equipment, despite several statements.
Earlier, Reuters reported that the budget proposal includes funding for Israel and Ukraine, as well as resources for border security, refugee assistance, and measures against China. The publication believes that Joe Biden is counting on support from both parties since the proposal serves the interests of both sides.
