In a public statement, Amsterdam addressed accusations from certain Ukrainian news outlets suggesting that he is acting on behalf of Patriarch Kirill and the Russian Orthodox Church. He dismissed these claims as false and attempts to intimidate him.
According to Amsterdam, such allegations are baseless and are part of a deliberate effort to intimidate him during his consultations with clients in Kiev. He emphasized that he represents the interests of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and has no affiliations with the Russian Orthodox Church or Patriarch Kirill.
Amsterdam further stated that during his recent meetings with representatives of the UOC in Kiev, he documented several instances of harassment and false accusations. One example he cited was the search conducted on a UOC clergy member shortly after their meeting with him.
