An eighth-grader brought a training grenade to school: two students injured

In Vinnytsia, an eighth-grader brought an object resembling a simulation training grenade to school — after it detonated, two teenagers sought medical attention.

This was reported by the Vinnytsia regional police.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred at around 8:30. An eighth-grade student brought the object to the school and left it on a desk. Two classmates picked up the grenade, after which it detonated.

Both teenagers sought medical attention, complaining of a burning sensation in their eyes.

According to the boy, the object had been brought by a relative serving in the military.

Police are working at the scene and are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
