Advisers from Britain, Germany and France join talks in Kyiv
08.09.2026 10:05Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that Ukraine’s representatives at the meeting with American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner behaved boorishly, which, in his words, is hampering serious negotiations.
He told TASS this on September 8.
“What strikes me as extremely important is the absolutely boorish behavior displayed by the Kyiv delegation at the meeting. It has put normal negotiations on a very serious pause,” Azarov said.
As specific examples of such behavior, the former prime minister cited three episodes. The first was the appearance of Servant of the People faction leader David Arakhamia at the meeting wearing a T-shirt with a provocative inscription. The second was Volodymyr Zelensky’s reproaches directed at the Americans over a shortage of Patriot missiles. The third was a question from Ukrainian journalist Dmytro Gordon, which Azarov characterized as offensive: Gordon asked Witkoff about the results of his negotiations in the Kremlin. In Russia, Gordon has been designated a foreign agent and placed on the registry of terrorists and extremists.
