“The Russian army made a sudden advance in Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region,” – military expert from Bild says
November 18, 2024Another Western publication reports that outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden’s decision to lift the ban on “long-range” strikes applies exclusively to Russia’s Kursk region. This authorization was communicated to Ukraine approximately three days ago.
This information reported according to the website Axios.
Sources indicate that the motivation behind this move was to deter North Korea from sending additional troops to Russia.
“U.S. officials hope that if North Korean troops in Kursk are attacked, Pyongyang may reconsider its decision to send forces to Russia, potentially causing the Russian counteroffensive in Kursk to fail,” the article states.
The New York Times also mentioned yesterday that a priority target for the ATACMS missiles in the Kursk region could be North Korean troops.
However, it remains unclear whether strikes would focus solely on these forces or if Russian facilities would also be targeted.
