October 6, 2023President Joe Biden’s German Shepherd, Commander, has been removed from the White House due to his tendency to bite people.
This news has been reported by CNN.
The dog has already left the premises of the U.S. President’s working residence, and it is currently unknown where he will be sent.
During his time in Washington, Commander attacked Secret Service agents and other individuals working at the presidential residence on 11 occasions. It was reported that one Secret Service agent, whose hand and thigh were bitten by the President’s dog, had to receive medical treatment in a hospital. Another agent was attacked by the German Shepherd when Biden unleashed the dog after a family movie night.
This is the second presidential dog that has been removed from the White House due to bad behavior. Previously, a dog named Major, also a German Shepherd, had similarly attacked staff members and was relocated to Delaware.
It’s worth noting that recently, one of Biden’s German Shepherds bit a female Secret Service agent who was part of the presidential security team. The White House medical unit provided assistance to the injured officer.
Another German Shepherd named Champ, who was also part of the Biden family, passed away in June 2021 at the age of 13.
In December 2021, after Major’s departure and Champ’s passing, the Bidens introduced Commander to the White House.
