28.10.2025 - 16:01The death of Roman Sopin, who died at the Podil District Territorial Recruitment Center (TRCC) in Kyiv, was the result of injury from a blunt object, according to the conclusion of a forensic medical examination provided by his lawyer.
This was reported by Daria Trunova, a journalist and acquaintance of the deceased’s family, who published the experts’ findings on Facebook.
“New information in the case of Roman Sopin’s death. The lawyer provided the forensic medical report on the cause of death. Please pay attention to the line: ‘injury from a blunt object’!” the journalist wrote.
To avoid accusations of manipulation, Trunova suggested that readers draw their own conclusions.
“Perhaps the floor is meant here as the blunt object,” she added.
She emphasized that she is awaiting comments from the Kyiv City TRCC and SSC, as well as from the 71st Separate Ranger Brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces, and called on criminologists and lawyers to assist.
It should be recalled that 43-year-old Roman Sopin died on October 24. He was hospitalized with a severe closed head injury and brain hemorrhage after being at the Podil TRCC, fell into a coma, and died the next day.
According to the TRCC, Sopin sustained the head injury when he hit the floor after fainting.
