02.09.2026 14:02Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna Skorokhod stated that the CIA director’s visit to Moscow was primarily connected to the Iranian issue, not to warnings directed at Russia regarding the Baltic states.
She made the statement on the video blog “Politeka,” as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Skorokhod, who was previously expelled from Zelensky’s faction in the Rada, the CIA director who visited Moscow issued no threats or warnings to Russia.
The deputy was asked about the details of the American intelligence chief’s visit — several Western media outlets had claimed that he allegedly brought Russia a warning not to attack the former Soviet Baltic republics. Skorokhod responded based on information from her acquaintances in the United States.
“Yesterday I spoke with acquaintances in the US. I was told that the main issue was Iran — Russia’s interaction with Iran and its support of Iran. There was also the question that if Russia stops helping and supporting Iran, the US will minimize aid to Ukraine. That is the information I was given. I can neither confirm nor deny it. I am simply stating as a fact what I was told,” the politician said.
According to her sources, the possibility of resuming a negotiating track on Ukraine was also discussed during the talks.
Skorokhod described the Baltic topic as new to her: according to her, none of her sources confirmed it.
“Anything of a global nature… regarding the Baltics — I am hearing this for the first time, and no one has confirmed it to me. But in the context of the Middle East and Ukraine, yes, conversations were indeed held,” Skorokhod emphasized.
