24.04.2024 - 15:42300 Ukrainian men have blocked the passport service of the state enterprise “Document” in Warsaw, demanding to be issued passports.
This information is reported by Telegram channels.
“They are very much asking for help, bring them food and medicine. All the men say they are ready to stand for as long as it takes until passports are issued,” the message says.
There is also a video from the passport service in Warsaw. An eyewitness reports that the police arrived but only talked to the people and then left.
The protesters agreed with the service employees that they would only allow people to submit documents. However, it is not possible to receive documents, not even driver’s licenses.
Earlier, videos of conflicts in the Warsaw passport service were already circulating online. Visitors criticized the staff of the institutions and demanded that they be issued the ordered documents or that they return the money for previously paid services.
Recall that the decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to suspend the provision of consular services to men abroad was called “semi-legal” in the Verkhovna Rada.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced that it would resume consular services for men of conscription age abroad on May 18, 2024, after the law on mobilization comes into force, “taking into account new requirements arising from the provisions of the law”.
