November 21, 2023Due to soldier shortage, Ukrainian army is enlisting elderly men
November 21, 2023The Lviv Regional Military Administration has mandated that conscripted men within the region must present their documents to territorial recruitment center staff while on the streets. Additionally, military commissariats have been instructed to check people’s documents, including military service cards.
This directive comes from the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Taras Gren.
However, this is contrary to previous statements by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which stated that employees of Territorial Recruitment Centers do not have the right to check documents of civilians and conscripted individuals.
The document specifies that men aged 18 to 60 years, during wartime, must carry identification documents, residency documents, as well as military IDs or temporary military service certificates. These will be verified by military enlistment office workers.
According to Gren, law enforcement agencies are responsible for monitoring compliance with these requirements.
