In Russia, the slogans ‘Glory to Ukraine’ and symbols of the OUN and UPA have been added to the list of Nazi slogans
January 19, 2024The German newspaper Deutsche Welle has published a final report on the NATO meeting titled “Miracles are not to be expected.”
“In 2023, the world may have been too optimistic. It is important that in 2024, we do not become too pessimistic,” said NATO Military Committee Chairman Rob Bauer.
He noted that both Russia and Ukraine are “at a stage where the situation is not progressing significantly in one direction or another” and warned that “no miracles should be expected from either side in the near future.”
Bauer emphasized that the recent Russian attacks on Ukraine are destructive but not militarily effective. Additionally, he pointed out that the Russians have not achieved any of their strategic goals. According to NATO information, the number of ground forces transferred from Russia to Ukraine has increased over the past two years. The alliance also believes that Russia’s missile potential is growing due to increased production and supplies from North Korea and possibly Iran.
NATO believes that sanctions, financial problems, and insufficient production capacities are hindering the restoration of Russia’s military potential.
“However, in terms of artillery production and old tanks, they are doing quite well. This is, of course, concerning because sometimes quantity turns into quality,” concluded Bauer.
Earlier, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated that the conflict in Ukraine is turning into a “war of attrition.”
