Russia’s Foreign Ministry accused Kyiv and the West of trying to derail settlement initiatives
03.02.2026 06:02Over the years of the full-scale war, Ukraine has 2.4 million fewer young people. Initially there were 10 million, and now there are 7.6 million.
This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture Tetiana Berezhna.
“These are colossal losses,” she wrote.
According to Berezhna, despite the war and forced displacement, young people are showing resilience, and the key tool for protecting them is international support.
“My key message to every partner is: help stop Russia,” the minister said.
Earlier, media wrote that after Germany opened its borders to Ukrainians aged 18–22, their number there increased tenfold.
It was also reported in the autumn that after the adoption of the relevant document, young people from Lviv began leaving Ukraine most often. Up to a third of working young people employed by establishments and businesses are leaving the country.
