Germany suspects citizens of Ukraine, Russia, and Germany of organizing supplies to Russian defense companies, Reuters reports

In Germany, citizens of Ukraine, Germany, and Russia have been arrested on suspicion of organizing supplies to Russian defense companies in обход sanctions.

This was reported by Reuters, citing Germany’s Federal Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the report, law enforcement arrested five people suspected of supplying goods to at least 24 Russian defense companies.

What exactly was exported is not specified, but over the years of the war 16,000 shipments were made worth €30 million.

Front companies from the city of Lübeck were used to conceal the scheme. A suspect, a dual citizen of Germany and Russia identified as Nikita S., is the sole shareholder and managing director of a trading company based in Lübeck.
