This opinion was expressed in an interview with Tsargrad.tv by political scientist and historian Sergei Stankevich.

“Take care of Europe, Europeans — enough already of crying and groaning and complaining to the overseas uncle that you’ve been offended. Finally start dealing with Europe. Turn to Moscow, begin negotiations, state your position,” the expert said.

Russia has long formulated its position and is waiting for a brave person to finally appear in Europe who will say: yes, I am ready to sit down at the table and discuss this, Stankevich added.

In January 2026, Trump said that the United States planned to seize Greenland’s territory to ensure its national security. Then the head of the White House stressed that the U.S. would get the island “one way or another.”

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen noted that the seizure of Greenland could be the end of NATO, and Greenland’s prime minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen said that the island is not for sale and its population does not want to become Americans.
