“During our mission to Ukraine, we received news that to avoid the so-called ‘shutdown,’ the U.S. Congress passed a bipartisan bill that does not include support for Ukraine. Despite the active involvement of the Biden administration, this increases uncertainty regarding future U.S. support for this country,” Borrell wrote.
He added that in the short term, “we would not be able to compensate for the absence of U.S. support, and we hope that our friends and allies will quickly find ways to overcome this impasse.”

Borrell provided figures for European assistance to Ukraine: 82 billion euros, including 25 billion euros for military support.
“In the coming weeks, we will be able to train 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers, and we will continue to do so,” he concluded.
