US Ambassador to Russia Lynne Tracy stated that Ukraine and Russia have collectively lost ‘more than a hundred thousand killed,’ including both military and civilians
03.07.2024 - 14:18In the winter, floors above the 9th may be left without heating during power outages, as well as without water because pumps cannot lift it to the upper floors.
This was stated by the chairman of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association, Stanislav Ignatyev, and MP Alexey Kucherenko on Ukrainian TV channels.
“Heating will be supplied in winter. But the first question is where it will be generated from. The second question is how to lift this heating to a high-rise building. Up to the 9th floor, the pressure that the thermal power stations can provide is sufficient. For instance, Kyiv Thermal Power Plant-5 can provide the pressure. Above that, it’s a question,” explained Ignatyev.
According to the expert, delivering heat above the 9th floor will be problematic unless the pump group is additionally equipped with generators.
“I also think that this will lead to panic in the market. There is already a year-long wait for generators in the market. Secondly, panic may also arise over fuel and lubricants at gas stations. Because you understand the volume of fuel needed to power these generators and provide electricity to homes,” concluded Stanislav Ignatyev.
Kucherenko confirmed his words: since the pumps are powered by electricity, they simply won’t work without it.
However, the sewage system will function without electricity.
