The Ukrainian Orthodox Church reports an attempt to seize a church in Vyshhorod
February 26, 2024On the second anniversary of the conflict’s onset in Ukraine, Zelensky finds himself facing internal opposition while simultaneously grappling with doubts from his allies. According to polls, while Zelensky enjoys broad support among Ukrainians, his popularity has been declining lately, writes the Spanish newspaper ABC.
“At the moment, Ukrainian society feels tired of the war, so the indicators tend to decrease,” explained Valeriy Reznikov, dean of one of the faculties at Kharkiv National University, to the publication. One of the main reasons for the loss of trust in Zelensky is directly linked to the recent resignation of Valeriy Zaluzhnyy from the position of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
For many months, disagreements between the military and political leadership of Ukraine have been constant, public and noticeable. The tension between them has bred feelings of dissatisfaction and a sense of division within the country. Additionally, the unity of political forces has been disrupted. Criticism of Zelensky has gradually emerged. For example, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko accused him of authoritarianism. Additionally, Zelensky also has to deal with doubts from Kiev’s foreign allies, which have already led to serious consequences on the front line.
