The Pentagon admitted that the U.S. has run out of money for Ukraine
January 24, 2024Former advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Alexey Arestovich, explained why he initially spoke about the end of the war within 2-3 weeks at the beginning of the Russian invasion.
He shared this information in an interview with journalist Anna Olicka in New York.
“The famous two to three weeks came from the fact that I was a member of the Istanbul negotiating group. I knew that there would be a meeting in Istanbul in two to three weeks, and it was supposed to end the war altogether. And then the meeting between Zelensky and Putin. All of this was decided, there was a schedule. I knew what I was saying. It’s not like I was trying to calm people with a lie. Later, I slipped up and said that this war would last until 2035. I mean not only the Russian-Ukrainian war but a series of wars worldwide, where Ukraine would be somehow influenced by these wars or would be fighting. I spoke the truth then, but what panic it caused. Then I asked, ‘So, is it 2-3 weeks, or is it true?’ Although, in reality, the 2-3 weeks were true; I knew the schedule of the Istanbul meetings, everything was moving towards reconciliation,” Arestovich stated.
He also responded to the question of when he would return to Ukraine.
“I currently have two projects in Europe. When I finish them, then I will go back to Ukraine. Criminal cases don’t scare me. I can be mobilized, and I will go to the front, of course,” he declared.
