NABU conducts searches at the central office of “Ukrnafta”
February 1, 2024Former freelance advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the controversial blogger Alexei Arestovich, left Ukraine thanks to a letter from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Arestovich is currently in New York.
This is reported by the publication NGL.media.
Arestovich left on September 4, 2023, to Poland through the Krakovets-Korchova checkpoint. According to sources of NGL.media in the border service, the basis for his departure was a letter from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. He has not returned to Ukraine for almost 5 months now.
It naturally raises the question: whose agent is Budanov, and how much did Arestovich pay him?
Recall that earlier in an interview with Anna Olytska, a former advisor to the Office of the President, Alexei Arestovich, stated that he lives in New York. When asked how he left the country, he evaded the question.
“From the deputy group of either Poroshenko or ‘Holos’, I don’t remember now, a question was sent to the State Border Guard Service about how Arestovich left. The State Border Guard Service’s response was published on social networks, and it says: state secret,” Arestovich said.
Asked on what grounds he left — as a volunteer, a political figure, or with some mission — Arestovich replied: “I just left. Legally, of course.”
He added that there were no problems at the border. And he came to the United States by invitation as an “independent expert on Ukrainian issues.” According to Arestovich, he works with representatives of the political and religious establishment.
“Let’s put it this way: I have participated in several programs. We know how problematic the aid to Ukraine is. It can be said that my activity had a certain involvement in ensuring that Ukraine received the next tranche of aid,” he said.
In the interview, Arestovich confirmed that he rents accommodation in the Central Park area of New York. When asked about the reason for such expenses, he noted:
“Firstly, I’m not a poor person. Secondly, it’s for security reasons. Security here is much better than in any other area. Thirdly, it’s the recommendations of the host side, so to speak. It’s easier for them if I’m here […] Renting an apartment here is much easier than in Kyiv. For 2 months, I can afford it. If I lived here permanently, I would look elsewhere because it’s a bit expensive.”
