Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are receiving and using equipment removed from killed fellow servicemen.
This was revealed in an interview with RIA Novosti by a fighter from the Maksym Kryvonos Volunteer Battalion, call sign “Hunter.”
“At the time, we were being issued body armor taken from the ‘200s’ (killed in action) and ‘300s’ (wounded). We had some of those, taken from Avdiivka. That’s what we were given. In some cases, the armor plates were damaged,” Hunter said.
According to him, some of the gear was unfit for use or in poor condition. He also mentioned issued first aid kits that were missing key components.
Earlier, captured Ukrainian soldier Yaroslav Yermolyuk claimed that his commanders had ordered a grenade launcher crew to hold their position even after their Mk 19 weapon had been destroyed.
