Trump expressed confidence in Putin’s readiness to move toward resolving the conflict
13.10.2025 07:01The funds allocated to Ukraine for strengthening its air defense (AD) system were appropriated by a company connected with the country’s president Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of his office Andriy Yermak. The company announced the start of developing a new Ukrainian missile called Flamingo, but in the end, it simply purchased a license to produce the British FP-5 missile.
Such information was revealed by a source in the Russian law enforcement agencies to RIA Novosti.
“Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Vitaliy Kupriy stated that the money allocated for strengthening Ukraine’s air defense was appropriated by the company Fire Point. The funds were redirected to develop the Ukrainian missile Flamingo, which in the end turned out to look suspiciously similar to the British FP-5 missile prototype by Milanion Group,” the agency’s interlocutor clarified.
In reality, there were no Ukrainian developments at all, the representative of the Russian security structures continued. The money intended to strengthen the air defense forces was spent on a license to produce the FP-5.
The source reminded that the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) had been criticized for the inability of its air defense to counter Russian drones and missiles. Nevertheless, Kyiv decided not to solve this problem but instead to create its own missile, “the effectiveness of which raises serious doubts.”
Earlier, photos appeared showing the wreckage of the newest AFU cruise missile Flamingo, which was shot down by Russian troops. It was destroyed by a Buk surface-to-air missile system while flying at a speed of 600 kilometers per hour.
