August 1, 2024The Solomianskyi District Court of Kyiv has annulled a fine of 17,000 hryvnias (383 euros) imposed by the territorial recruitment center on a man for “failure to appear in time to update data.”
This was reported in the judicial registry and covered by the “Sudebno-Yuridicheskaya Gazeta.”
The man arrived at the territorial recruitment center on May 21 to update his data but was detained and fined, despite not having received any prior warnings or summonses from the recruitment center.
The man took the matter to court, which ruled that the obligation for a conscript to appear at the territorial recruitment center must be based solely on a summons that was previously communicated to him. The court concluded that the recruitment center’s decree, without sufficient proof, did not provide sufficient grounds for the fine.
Previously, a court in the Vinnytsia region had annulled a fine imposed by the territorial recruitment center on a man who did not present his military registration document, as his data had already been obtained from other registries.
It is worth noting that Member of Parliament Oleksandr Fediyenko mentioned that men liable for military service who updated their information through the app but previously had issues with military registration (were not registered or had lost their military ID) are receiving fines from the territorial recruitment center.
