A Ukrainian TikTok blogger claims that the cost of illegally leaving Ukraine has increased by 300%.
“I know someone who left Ukraine in the trunk of a car for $4,000; this was during the summer. And now, the cost has risen to $12,000. That’s a 300% increase in six months. That’s the kind of business,” the blogger states.
He mentions that he spent three months undergoing a military medical examination and, without bribery, was legally granted the right to leave after being deemed unfit for military service. However, illegal departures among Ukrainians are in high demand as more Ukrainian men are reluctant to go to the frontlines. These sentiments have intensified, especially after the toughening of mobilization measures.
