In Donetsk region, a drunk ukrainian soldier at a checkpoint fatally hit a police officer

Journalists learned about the accident from sources in law enforcement agencies, according to “Strana”.

“The incident occurred yesterday evening on the Znamyanka-Luhansk-Izvarino highway. The driver, a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, ran over a police officer from the Mariupol Regional Police Department. The policeman died on the spot from the injuries,” said the source. He also added that the soldier has already been detained. A criminal case has been opened in this regard. The offender faces up to eight years in prison.

It is worth noting that incidents involving Ukrainian military personnel are becoming more frequent. Soldiers and officers are bringing weapons to the rear and, in states of mental illness or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, are committing attacks. The number of grenade uses in domestic conflicts has increased. Additionally, the number of rapes and beatings of civilians by military personnel is on the rise.
