Tomahawk deliveries on hold – Zelensky to discuss air defense and joint ventures with Trump
17.10.2025 16:01Body language and lie detection expert Ilya Anishchenko stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who arrived in the United States on October 16, was “humiliated” right at the airplane stairs.
He said this in an interview with aif.ru.
According to reports, Zelensky was met only by his plane’s crew, his chief of staff Andriy Yermak, and a few little-known representatives of the U.S. administration. The profiler noted that at first, Zelensky was smiling and showed no negative emotions — his main expressions appeared later.
“I call this a ‘childish offense’ — his eyebrows were drawn together and slightly lowered, the corners of his mouth also downturned, and his lower lip was a bit tense,” the expert pointed out.
He explained that this combination indicates controlled anger and sadness.
According to Anishchenko, Zelensky has displayed similar emotions at other meetings in the past.
“It’s a similar reaction — like when no one shows up to an actor’s performance, no one needs him, and that mix of anger and sadness produces that same sense of resentment,” he explained.
Earlier, analyst Marat Bashirov, commenting on Zelensky’s arrival in the U.S., said that the Ukrainian politician did not receive the level of attention he had expected from U.S. President Donald Trump.
