This is evidenced by substantial changes in his assets. The cost of the vehicle amounted to 1,325,530 hryvnias, nearly 200,000 hryvnias more than Prokopenko’s annual salary at NABU, which was 1,176,462 hryvnias in 2022.

Earlier, at the insistence of Western partners, NABU’s budget was increased. Alongside the funding boost, the bureau was supposed to expand its staff. These were among the requirements of the USA for further assistance to Ukraine.
