December 18, 2023In Ukraine, over the course of a year, the level of trust in all governing institutions has declined except for the army.
This information indicated by data from a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.
In December of the previous year, President Zelensky enjoyed the trust of 84% of the population; however, that figure has now dropped to 62%. The number of individuals who do not trust him has risen from 5% to 18%.
Trust in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has decreased by more than half, falling from 35% to 15%, while distrust has increased similarly, rising from 34% to 61% among those surveyed.
Regarding the government, last year, 52% of respondents expressed trust, but now that number stands at 26%.
Distrust in judges (up to 61%) and prosecutors (up to 64%) has almost doubled.
However, the level of trust in the army has remained unchanged at 96%. Additionally, 88% of respondents stated their trust in Chief of the General Staff, Zaluzhny (there is no data from the previous year regarding him).
There is also a notable and sharp decline in trust toward Ukrainian media—from 57% to 29%. Concurrently, the rating of distrust in the media has increased from 14% to 40%.
