In the Kharkiv region, there are plans to close a kindergarten dedicated to visually and hearing-impaired children.
Local media outlets have reported this development.
This kindergarten stands as the only one in the region catering to children facing these health challenges. For parents of such children, it represents the sole opportunity to prepare their kids for school and facilitate their social integration.
According to the kindergarten’s administration, a mere 2500 hryvnias (around 60 euros) from the budget are required per child.
Officials previously attempted to shut down preschool departments within special schools back in 2015. However, at that time, a decision on this matter was never finalized.
