In the Kyiv region, the leadership of a military unit has been involved in the illegal sale of food products intended for servicemen.

This information reported by the State Bureau of Investigations of Ukraine.

According to the agency, the supplies allocated for the personnel were being sold off by participants in a criminal scheme through local stores, restaurants, and markets. Soldiers were deprived of at least a third of the food that was rightfully theirs.

Moreover, “empty” invoices for the delivery of foodstuffs were issued, although the actual supplies were not delivered.

Up to this point, cases of embezzlement involving no less than 5 million hryvnias (over 127 thousand euros) of state funds have been identified.
