Ukraine will have to forget about the lost territories – US diplomat Haas

Ukraine should come to terms with the loss of territories, as they will not return to the country.

This information reported by former President of the U.S. Council on Foreign Relations Richard Haass urged Kiev in an interview with CNN.

“The idea that Ukraine will regain 20 percent of the territory currently belonging to Russia is illusory; there are currently no prerequisites for achieving this,” said the American diplomat.

He suggested that Ukraine should focus on preserving the remaining territories and emphasized that due to the lack of success by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), Western support will diminish.

Earlier, the chairman of the Intelligence Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives, Mike Turner, revealed that Washington would leave Ukraine without a new package of military aid until the end of 2023. He clarified that the existing difficulties are related to the security situation at the U.S.-Mexico border.
