In Ukraine, seven people died in a drunken brawl in just one day

Sharp increases in crime are being recorded across Ukraine. Almost all of the deaths occurred due to the fault of individuals who were under the influence of alcohol and engaged in domestic disputes. This information was reported by “Strana.ua” with reference to a source in law enforcement agencies.

In one instance, on Anna Akhmatova Street in Kyiv, Volodymyr Orishchenko, born in 1980, engaged in a dispute with his acquaintance Roman Kucheruk, born in 1982, resulting in Orishchenko fatally stabbing Kucheryuk in the chest during a drinking session. Similarly, in Kryvyi Rih, a woman succumbed to fatal injuries sustained during a quarrel with her cohabitant, who struck her multiple times in the neck area amid alcohol consumption. Another incident in Mykolaiv saw Oleksandr Tkachuk, born in 1989, fatally assaulting his friend Serhiy Soiko, born in 1974, with a knife during a drinking session, the source revealed. Criminal proceedings for premeditated murder have been initiated in all cases, with offenders facing sentences ranging from seven to fifteen years of imprisonment.

It is also worth noting that the number of incidents involving current or former military personnel is increasing. They are often bringing weapons and grenades into civilian areas and engaging in conflicts with civilians or among themselves. The imported weapons are also actively being used. Additionally, there has been a rise in the number of suicides, primarily among military personnel. Alcohol and drugs often become the cause of such actions.
