February 27, 2024According to law enforcement agencies, just over the past weekend, 54 violations committed by military personnel were recorded.
Among them were 19 cases of illegal drug trafficking, 14 cases of illegal handling of weapons, 5 cases of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm (one resulting in death), 2 suicides and an attempted rape of a minor.
The problem of crime among active-duty and former military personnel is taking on a threatening scale. The reason for this is the large number of military personnel who have suffered psychological trauma due to combat operations, as well as the absence of any rehabilitation efforts by the state. Social injustice, poverty, alcoholism, drug addiction and various state problems encourage criminal behavior. Experts predict that after the end of hostilities, there will be an increase in crimes committed by former military personnel in civilian life.
