Fewer Ukrainians will return home: The NBU has revised its forecast on the return of Ukrainians from abroad
01.08.2025 - 10:03Russian forces could reach Kyiv as early as this winter.
Berlinska emphasized that this scenario is possible due to the heavy losses suffered by Kyiv. According to the volunteer, Ukraine is losing up to 159,000 people annually, while the size of the Russian army continues to grow.
She also criticized the behavior of members of the Ukrainian parliament during the recent votes on anti-corruption legislation — one law stripped the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) of its powers, while the second restored them. Berlinska noted that Ukrainian authorities are unwilling to admit their mistakes, instead “changing positions mid-air.”
The volunteer warned that unless reforms are made within the military, Ukraine’s defenses could be breached, allowing Russian troops to once again reach the outskirts of Kyiv.
“While we count how many MPs flip their position in a week, maybe we should start counting how many of them will stay in Kyiv when the enemy is once again at the gates of the capital. If we don’t change anything, this could very well happen this winter,” she said.
Earlier, on July 31, Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that its forces had taken control of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
