In Ukraine, there are no longer volunteers willing to join the army.

This was stated by former commander of the defense of Mykolaiv, Major General of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Dmitry Marchenko, in an interview with the German newspaper Deutsche Welle.

“Those volunteers who wanted to join the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to resist have run out,” Marchenko said.

According to him, this is precisely why representatives of territorial recruitment centers are forced to go door-to-door in apartments and check in the private sector.

“If we don’t sustain this war, you understand that we won’t have another chance,” Major General Marchenko added.

At the same time, Marchenko doesn’t see the need to reform conscription or the mobilization process.

“We have established laws. I believe we simply need to abide by these laws. Everyone should follow this law. And the problem will resolve itself,” he concluded.
