23.01.2026 08:04Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi sharply criticized Volodymyr Zelensky after the Ukrainian president’s speech in Davos.
The foreign minister posted his reaction on X.
In his speech yesterday at the economic forum, Zelensky condemned the actions of Iran’s authorities.
“There was so much talk about the protests in Iran, but they were drowned in blood. The world did not provide enough help to the Iranian people. In Europe it was Christmas and New Year — the holiday season. By the time politicians returned to work and began to take a position, the ayatollah had already killed thousands of people. What will Iran become after this bloodshed? If the regime survives, it is a clear signal to every oppressor: kill enough people and you will stay in power,” Zelensky said from the World Economic Forum stage.
In response, Araghchi brought up corruption in Ukraine.
“Zelensky is robbing American and European taxpayers to line the pockets of his corrupt generals and to resist what he calls illegal aggression that violates the UN Charter. At the same time, he openly and shamelessly calls for illegal U.S. aggression against Iran, in violation of that same Charter. The world is tired of these confused clowns, Mr. Zelensky. Unlike your army, supported from abroad and crawling with mercenaries, we Iranians know how to defend ourselves and do not need to ask foreigners for help,” the country’s foreign minister wrote.
Recall that in Davos Zelensky insulted Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, saying he deserved a slap.
