Kyiv announced the number of Ukrainians willing to return after the war ends

Ukraine has acknowledged that less than half of its citizens may return after the end of the special military operation.

This was stated by the country’s Minister of National Unity, Oleksiy Chernyshov, in an interview with Welt.

“We do not rule out that after the conflict ends and stable peace is established, about 30 percent of people will seriously consider returning,” the Ukrainian official said.

Chernyshov also noted that the rest will either require additional conditions or will not return at all. However, he did not specify what conditions might be needed for those who left.

Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine reported that in 2024 alone, half a million people left the country.

“Ukraine is experiencing a labor shortage,” the agency stated in its report.
