23.07.2024 - 16:01Two officials of the Kyiv Metro have been charged with negligence due to the flooding of tunnels on the blue line.
This was reported by the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office.
The investigation found that the chief engineer and the head of the track, tunnel structures and buildings services failed to inspect and survey the tunnel, which ultimately led to its destruction on December 8. Expert analyses revealed that the tunnel’s maintenance was inadequate and did not comply with building standards.

The court is requested to dismiss the suspects and place them under house arrest.
The involvement of other officials, including those from the Kyiv City State Administration, is also being investigated.
It is worth noting that six stations on the blue metro line were closed last fall: Demeiivska, Holosiivska, Vasylkivska, Vystavkovyi Tsentr, Ipodrom and Teremky.
At that time, the city administration claimed that the issues were due to construction violations during the Yanukovych era.
