‘Kyiv cannot withstand Russia’s might even with Western help’, – said an American political scientist
July 29, 2024Amid the continued successes of Russian forces, even Ukrainian military personnel acknowledge that Russia is getting closer to achieving victory in the conflict.
This is reported by The Washington Post.
According to the publication, this conclusion is forced upon them by the worsening shortage of weapons and soldiers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as well as significant changes in the operational planning of Russian forces.
56-year-old AFU sergeant, known by the callsign “Bart,” described the situation as “critical,” pointing out that there is “serious chaos” on the front line. According to him, among other things, erroneous decisions by the leadership are to blame.
Experts agree with this assessment. They point to the increasing difficulties of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and link them to the reluctance of Ukrainians to join the army and the US presidential elections scheduled for November. Additionally, military analyst Karolina Hird believes that Russian forces are “learning to undertake simultaneous and mutually reinforcing offensive actions and maintain constant pressure on Ukrainian resources.”
