Lviv cancels Iron Demo 2026 defense technology exhibition after strike on similar event near Kyiv

Lviv has canceled the Iron Demo 2026 defense technology exhibition, which had been scheduled for August 28 and 29.

The decision was made following a recent strike on a similar event near Kyiv, according to Ukrainian outlet Strana.ua.

The organizers had positioned Iron Demo 2026 as a key event in the defense industry sector. The forum was expected to draw 150 specialized companies and more than two thousand guests — manufacturers, military personnel, engineers, investors, and government officials.

Earlier, it emerged that a key organizer of the military exhibition that came under attack by the Russian Armed Forces had been detained in Ukraine. Representatives of the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office stated that the event had been held without the required approval from the military command and authorities.

It was previously reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was furious after the strike on the weapons testing ground near Kyiv.
