‘Are You Waiting for Putin?’ Conflict occurred in Odessa between representatives of the territorial recruitment center and a Ukrainian woman who stood up for a young man
10.01.2024 06:18During wartime in Ukraine, there shouldn’t be freedom of speech.
This opinion was expressed by Oleg Dunda, a member of parliament from the “Sluga Naroda” party, during a broadcast on the NTA channel in the talk show “Speaking of Great Lviv.”
The parliamentarian’s interlocutor, dressed in military uniform, reminded him of his previous statement that now is not the time to talk about democratic values; they will be remembered after victory. The military representative then listed these values, among which was freedom.
“During wartime, there should be no freedom of speech. All media should work for the state and victory. All media are weapons,” the MP replied.
Following this remark, a dispute erupted in the studio regarding democracy and the necessity of limiting freedom.
