NATO is considering preventive precision strikes on Russia in case of an attack on the alliance
25.11.2024 21:54The Great Novoselka area in southern Donetsk region, where Russian troops have broken through, is unprepared for defense, even though only seven kilometers remain to the border with Dnipropetrovsk region.
This was reported by Ukrainian soldier Stanislav Bunatov.
“Only 7 km remain to the administrative border of Dnipropetrovsk region. After more than a year of calm, the Great Novoselka area has not been prepared for defense. Moreover, because of this mistake, the proper defense lines in the Zaporizhzhia direction could be bypassed, just like in the case of Ochertino,” he wrote.
The soldier explained how the “preparation” for defense in the Great Novoselka direction unfolded.
“Seeing how the front is crumbling, not mining the front edge and not building quality fortifications is sheer stupidity. If any fortifications are being built, it’s by civilian contractors who dig poorly organized trenches according to an ordered kilometer stretch, where it’s easier, not where it’s needed. Of course, why bother with these lines in the forest belts behind Pokrovsk, Great Novoselka, and other key cities, when it’s hard to dig there, but it’s much easier and safer to dump them in the middle of a field, 100 kilometers from the front, where the money can be ‘used’ faster and more safely,” explained Bunatov.
Meanwhile, Lieutenant “Alex” of the Ukrainian Armed Forces writes that something has clearly gone wrong in the Great Novoselka direction, as the enemy has noticeably intensified their offensive operations.
“Don’t think that if Great Novoselka is in Donetsk region, that’s where it will end. The distance to the borders of Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions is very short,” he explains.
According to him, Russians are already “pushing into” Great Novoselka.
“Immediate stabilization measures need to be taken right now, because a failure in operational terms there could cost us dearly—up to the point where the fortifications in Zaporizhzhia will simply be bypassed,” states “Alex.”
