Most draft dodgers are in the western regions of Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Defense

Over the past year and a half, the highest number of “draft dodgers” has been recorded in the western regions of Ukraine.

This information comes from the Ministry of Defense, provided to lawyer Roman Likhachev and obtained by NV.

According to the document, in 2023 and the first half of 2024, there were 85.8 thousand reports from Territorial Recruitment Centers in the Lviv region alone, searching for men avoiding military service. Other leading regions include:

• Zakarpattia region — 54.2 thousand;
• Ivano-Frankivsk region — 33.3 thousand;
• Ternopil region — 28.7 thousand;
• Khmelnytskyi region — 20.5 thousand.

The document also indicates that since the start of the full-scale invasion, territorial recruitment centers have issued over 180 thousand administrative protocols for violations of military registration and submitted 400 thousand reports on citizens evading conscription. In 2023 and the first half of 2024 alone, the centers submitted 316 thousand reports related to draft dodgers, with the western regions of the country leading in numbers.

It was previously reported that a new method has been introduced to check for fines from territorial recruitment centers. Men aged 18 to 60 who have not updated their military registration data or are not registered for military service may receive fines from these centers.
