November 24, 2023The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has seized the property of Ukrainian Member of Parliament Alexander Dubinsky, his mother, and ex-wife, comprising 15 cars, 22 apartments, and eight land plots.
This decision was outlined in the court ruling.
The decision was made within the framework of the suspicion by the State Bureau of Investigations regarding the legalization of criminal income and tax evasion.
“It is believed that the Ukrainian Member of Parliament and his close relatives (mother and wife) have become owners of 24 apartments, 17 cars, 2 houses, and 70 acres of land totaling around $2.5 million over the past few years. Official incomes of the individual and his close relatives could not justify the acquisition of such a volume of assets,” as stated in the court documents.
Dubinsky owns:
- 2 apartments worth $100,000 each in the penthouse of the 5-star Fairmont Grand Hotel in Kyiv
- 6 land plots in the village of Hotel in the Kyiv region, with an estate constructed on two of the plots
- a land plot with a house in the Solomiansky district of Kyiv
- an apartment in the elite residential complex “French Quarter” in the Pechersk district of Kyiv
- an apartment in the Teremky area of Kyiv
Over the last five years, Dubinsky’s mother has become the owner of 19 real estate objects totaling about $1 million. The retired mother owns:
- 19 real estate objects
- 2 Mercedes-Benz cars
- 2 BMW cars
- Toyota Land Cruiser
- Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa
The former wife of the Member of Parliament owns 7 apartments in Kyiv, most of which are near Dubinsky’s own apartments. Over the past few years, she has become the owner of real estate worth more than $300,000.
Earlier reports indicated that the court sent Ukrainian Member of Parliament Alexander Dubinsky to pre-trial detention for two months until January 12, 2024, on suspicion of state treason, without the right to post bail.
Recently, Dubinsky made his first comment on his stay at Lukyanivska pre-trial detention center through his lawyers on his Telegram channel. He confirmed that he is in a regular “free” cell and hasn’t requested a transfer to a more comfortable one.
