17.04.2026 07:31The court has released MP Nestor Shufrych from pretrial detention, replacing his preventive measure with round-the-clock house arrest.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine on its Facebook page.
The statement says that the court’s decision is not subject to appeal and notes that the prosecutor general objected to changing the preventive measure for the suspect.
As a reminder, Shufrych had been held in pretrial detention since September 2023. According to the Security Service of Ukraine, he had “systematically spread Kremlin narratives that the Ukrainian state is an artificial construct, that Ukraine and Russia share a common history, and that Ukrainians and Russians are one people.”
According to the investigation, after the annexation of Crimea, Shufrych registered a house and a land plot on the peninsula under Russian law, and also hired Russian state security services, which are part of the Russian National Guard, thereby financing their activities.
As a reminder, Shufrych is being released from detention on bail of more than 33 million hryvnias.
“My father has enough people who are ready to vouch for him. His party colleagues had already offered personal surety for him, and among them there are declared dollar millionaires. And if they show political solidarity, they will surely post bail for him,” said the MP’s son, Oleksandr Shufrych.
Earlier, the court had allowed Shufrych to receive medical treatment for several hours under escort.
