NATO Secretary General believes it is possible to end the war in Ukraine by the end of the year

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte considers it possible that the war in Ukraine could end by the end of the year.

The head of the North Atlantic Alliance answered “yes” to the corresponding question from a journalist, although he later added that making predictions is difficult.

“It’s always difficult to predict, but I sincerely hope that peace will come soon. Of course, after the Geneva talks, several more meetings are needed, as well as separate, parallel discussions of certain issues with the European Union and NATO. And we haven’t gotten that far yet,” Rutte said.

At the same time, the NATO Secretary General stated that “the peace plan does not change our assessment of Russia as a long-term threat to Europe.”

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump said that a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia is “very close.”

At the same time, according to Western media, Trump’s team believes that Putin will reject the U.S. peace plan on Ukraine in its revised Geneva version.
