December 26, 2023Reports suggest that individuals within the Yavoriv City Council procured coal at higher-than-market prices, resulting in a loss of around 1.2 million hryvnias.
According to sources in law enforcement, irregularities were detected in the Prozorro public procurement system. The Yavoriv City Council’s communal non-profit enterprise, specifically the Yavoriv Central District Hospital, initiated a purchase for “grade G0-200 coal.”
Investigations revealed that Oleg Brodyk, representing the Yavoriv City Hospital, along with Nikita Averkeev, a deputy director of a private company, signed an agreement to purchase coal totaling 2,210,000 hryvnias. However, the contract specified a price of 8,400 hryvnias per ton, significantly higher than the market price ranging from 5,400 to 6,000 hryvnias per ton for a similar coal grade.
