The newly elected President Donald Trump will withdraw the U.S. from the war in Ukraine, although it will be challenging.

This information reported according to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who maintained contacts with the Republican even before his election.

“The Americans are going to pull out of this war. Many things are said about Trump, but there is one thing no one doubts: he hates war. For two years, they convinced the world that war and sanctions are good, and that peace advocates are foolish. Changing direction suddenly will not be easy. It is a complex, uncomfortable, and difficult-to-resolve situation,” the Hungarian Prime Minister stated on Kossuth Radio.

Orban also expressed his belief that Europe will not be able to independently finance Ukraine’s defense if the U.S. ceases its support.

It is worth noting that Trump has promised to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours.

Previously, Orban told journalists after a meeting of European leaders in Budapest that the aid package for Ukraine, consisting of a €50 billion loan from the U.S. and Europe, which had already been agreed upon, now becomes an “open question” following Trump’s election victory.
