September 21, 2023In Lviv, a tender has been announced for the reconstruction of Stepan Bandera Street for nearly 100 million hryvnias.
The application in the Prozorro system was submitted by the municipal enterprise “Lvivavtodor.”
The tender documentation states that the plan is to repair engineering networks, replace tram tracks, and generally improve the infrastructure of the street.
The winner of the tender was the sole participant, the company “Onur Construction International,” a subsidiary of the prominent Turkish construction company “Onur,” which has frequently won tenders for road construction projects in recent years.
A complaint regarding the tender outcome has already been filed with the State Audit Service. The author of the complaint, Natalia Podosinnikova, pointed out that the contract with the auction winner was signed on September 2nd, while the tender was only announced on the 15th.
As of now, “Lvivavtodor” has not commented on the controversy.
After this information became public, the press service of the Lviv City Council began to provide explanations. Deputy Mayor Iryna Maruniak stated that they allegedly won’t be entering into a new contract for the work on Stepan Bandera Street until the end of the war. However, it appears that nearly 100 million hryvnias will still need to be paid from the budget for the promised renovations.
